Dunoon flasher faces decade on sex register

EXCLUSIVE:
A FLASHER who exposed himself to teenagers as young as 15 in Dunoon has been jailed and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.
Jermaine Moore, 31, revealed his private parts “in a sexual manner” to the shocked youngsters in a bizarre string of street incidents.
He targeted both female and male victims aged 15 to 17 in Edward Street and Victoria Parade on 30 March this year.
His defence lawyer Graeme Wright said: “Mr Moore is no stranger to custody. His general world view is perhaps slightly unusual.”
A psychiatric report on Moore had been prepared prior to sentencing yesterday, but Dunoon Sheriff Court heard that “nothing had arisen” from it.
Moore – already serving a jail sentence for another matter – was on bail at the time of the flashing incidents.
And he was also under a strict court order not to approach or enter Edward Street when he exposed himself to five people there.
Sheriff Thomas Ward sentenced Moore to a total of nine months on three indecent exposure charges – including the one involving the 15-year-old girl.
He was admonished for using a taxi without paying or intending to pay a £2.90 fare in a separate incident on 4 February.
And he was sentenced to 80 days – to run concurrently with the nine months – for behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and uttering threats of violence on 23 January.
Sheriff Ward told him: “You will be placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years because the sentences you have received are in excess of six months.”
Burly Moore – who looked agitated in the dock throughout yesterday’s hearing – chuckled and muttered “f*** sake” before being led away.
